"These seniors have worked very hard and have been through a lot of adversity," Benson said. "They came to Auburn wanting to better the program and that is what they have done. They are foundation builders and are going to leave this program ten times better from when they came in." The five led the Tigers to their first winning season since 1999 last season as Auburn finished the 2009 schedule with a 16-15 overall record. They have also built the team from a No. 232 RPI in 2008 to a No. 45 RPI currently. SCOUTING OLE MISS Junior Regina Thomas leads the SEC with a .421 attack percentage, having 210 kills on 418 attempts with just 34 errors. She is also third in the conference with a 1.16 blocks-per-set average. Setter Amanda Philpot is sixth in the SEC with a 7.81 assists-per-set average, while libero Morgan Springer is second in the league with a 4.62 digs-per-set average. Ole Miss holds a slim 22-20 margin over Auburn in the series history. The Rebels took a 3-0 win over the Tigers on Oct. 8 in Oxford in the two squads' first meeting of the season. Auburn's Liz Crouch broke the Auburn career digs mark as she recorded 15 digs in the match. Sarah Bullock led the Tigers with 11 kills and finished with seven digs. Kelly Fidero had eight kills, while Katherine Culwell had seven. |
