Third Ranked Gators Down Tigers, 3-0, in SEC Volleyball

AUBURN – Junior Negin Azarbehi had a team-high 10 digs for Auburn as the Tigers fell to third-ranked Florida (USA Today/AVCA), 3-0, on Sunday, Nov. 10, at the Student Activities Center. The loss dropped Auburn to 1-25, 0-14 Southeastern Conference, while the Gators moved to 24-1, 14-0 SEC.

Florida hit .389 for the match on 95 attacks while Auburn could only muster a .020 hitting percentage on 98 attacks. Junior Brittney Diaz led the Tigers with seven kills while freshman Bailey Veit had six. UF’s Michelle Chatman and Nicole McCray registered 11 kills apiece.

Auburn had a tough time getting much past Florida as the Gators recorded 10.0 blocks. AU posted a -.031 hitting percentage in game one, .108 in game two and -.034 in the final game.

Game scores were 30-14, 30-20, and 30-13.

The Tigers return to action on Wednesday, Nov. 13, when they travel to in-state rival Alabama. Game time is slated for 7 p.m. in Tuscaloosa.
