Auburn (11-8, 3-5 SEC) will return home to the Student Activities Center to face LSU (15-2, 7-1 SEC) on Friday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. The Tigers will then take on Arkansas (10-6, 3-5 SEC) on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum. AU's two-match losing streak marks the longest of the season for the Tigers.
Auburn is 11-23 all-time against LSU and have lost nine in-a-row to the Tigers. The last victory for Auburn came on Nov. 5, 2000 in Baton Rouge, and the last home win came on Nov. 14, 1999.
AU is 1-24 against Arkansas, losing the last 18 matches. The only win for Auburn came on Nov. 1, 1996 in Fayetteville.
Recapping Last Week
The Auburn volleyball team went 0-2 in a pair of SEC road matches this past weekend. The Tigers fell to Ole Miss, 3-1 on Friday, and 3-0 to Mississippi State on Sunday.
Auburn and Ole Miss were tied at 1-1 heading into game three, but the Rebels took the next two games for the win. Junior Rachel Shanks led the Tigers with 16 kills, while adding 10 digs. Sophomore Joanna Pappas totaled 42 assists and led the squad with 14 digs, while junior Whitney Jacob had 10 kills and 10 digs.
On Sunday, Auburn suffered its second sweep in as many years in Starkville. Sophomore Jessica Glover led AU with 13 kills and added six digs. Junior Rachel Shanks totaled nine kills and seven digs, and senior Julie Bosler added seven kills and six blocks.
Setting A New Standard
The Tiger's 11 victories so far this season are three more than Auburn had in all of 2005. The last time AU amassed 11 wins this quickly (19 matches) was 1999 when Auburn had 11 victories in its first 14 games
