Auburn Volleyball Travels To Ole Miss For A Friday Match

AUBURN, Ala. - The Auburn volleyball team hits the road for a match against SEC West rival Ole Miss in Oxford, Miss., at 7 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers enter the match with a 14-5 overall mark and are 5-2 in conference play, while the Rebels stand at 10-5 and 4-2.
"Ole Miss is a very tough and a very good team, especially when they are playing at home," head coach Wade Benson said. "Friday night's match will be a major battle against two NCAA-caliber teams and I believe we have the maturity, the talent and the mental toughness to come away with a big win."

SCOUTING OLE MISS
Junior Regina Thomas leads Ole Miss and the conference with a .395 attack percentage and is third in the SEC with an average of 1.28 blocks per set. Setter Amanda Philpot is seventh in the conference with a 6.61 assists-per-set average and libero Morgan Springer is second in the SEC with a 5.00 digs-per-set average.
Ole Miss holds a slim 21-20 lead in the series between the two squads. The Tigers came away with two, four-set victories over the Rebels last season to end a seven-match losing streak to Ole Miss.
On Oct. 4, 2009, Crouch became the eighth Tiger to record 1,000 career digs and her 453 digs last season also placed her in the record books, as that mark is the most-ever reached by a Tiger in a single season.
