Jacksonville State Match Notes
AUBURN, Ala. - The Auburn volleyball team looks to improve to 6-2 when it faces Jacksonville State on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 7 p.m. in the Student Activities Center. Admission is free. The Tigers are coming off a 1-2 weekend, taking part in the Diet Coke Classic on the campus of the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Sept. 4-5. Auburn fell, 3-0, to both No. 13 Minnesota and No. 12 Iowa State on day one and two, respectively. The Tigers finished the tournament with a 3-1 win over George Washington. Junior Liz Crouch was named to the Diet Coke Classic All-Tournament team. Jacksonville State enter sTuesday's match with a 5-2 overall record and are coming off a 2-1 finish at the Bama Bash in Tuscaloosa, Sept. 4-5. The Gamecocks opened the tournament with a 3-0 loss to Southern Methodist, but concluded Friday with a 3-0 win over McNeese State. JSU closed out the tournament with a 3-1 win over host Alabama. Senior outside hitter Brittney Whitten leads the squad with 94 total kills and has 87 total digs on the season. Auburn holds a 4-1 series record over Jacksonville State. Last season, the Gamecocks came away with a 3-2 win on Sept. 2, in Jacksonville, Ala. The match will be available on GameTracker, which can be accessed from the Auburn Volleyball Schedule page. The Tigers head to Statesboro, Ga., for the Bash in the Boro tournament hosted by Georgia Southern. Auburn faces Coastal Carolina on Sept. 11, at 4 p.m. and then takes on Wake Forest on Sept. 12, at 9 a.m. The team closes out the tournament with a match against host Georgia Southern on 6 p.m.
