Auburn Volleyball Captures Tournament Title In Italy

PESARO, Italy - In the final days of the overseas trip, the Auburn volleyball team captured the gold championship of the four-day tournament on June 11 in Pesaro, Italy. The team reached the tournament final after defeating the Scavolini National B Team and the Brazilian Sports Club team on June 8 and June 9, respectively. The Tigers faced Scavolini in the championship and defeated the reigning Italy national club champions in four sets (17-25, 26-24, 25-11, 25-19). Auburn was led by two seniors in Alyssa Davis and Morgan Johns. Davis finished with eight kills and had a .615 attack percentage, while Johns tallied 11 kills and had a .500 attack percentage. Junior Kelly Fidero was awarded Most Valuable Player of the tournament for her performances over the four days. The Tigers travel back to the United States Monday.
