Volleyball Concludes Spring Season In Nashville

AUBURN, Ala. - The Auburn volleyball team finished the spring season in Nashville, taking on a three teams at the Southeast College-Junior Invitational Saturday.

"We put together a good end to the spring season," head coach Wade Benson said. "We had some struggles with consistency, but always managed to figure out a way to come out on top."

Sophomore setter Christina Solverson continued to have a solid spring and played well for the team. Freshman Chloe Rowand, who sat out last season as a redshirt, also put together a good performance at middle blocker for Auburn.

The Tigers opened the day with a three-set sweep over Tennessee State and followed with 2-1 victory over Austin Peay. Auburn concluded the afternoon with a 1 p.m. match against NCAA tournament competitor Lipscomb. The Tigers defeated the Lady Bisons with a score of 2-1.

Auburn opens the 2010 fall season hosting the War Eagle Invitational, August 27-28 at the Student Activities Center. The Tigers face Georgia Southern, Troy and Tennessee-Martin during the two-day tournament.
