TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -
Auburn women's tennis team finished up at the Southeastern Conference Fall Coaches Classic at the University of Alabama Tennis Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala., Saturday with two Tigers defeating their final day opponents.
Jil Hastenrach defeated South Carolina's Ashley Miller in a tight three game match, 6-3, 1-6, 7-5. No. 51 Alex Haney was also named the winner by default in her bracket over Catherine Newman of Vanderbilt.
Four other Tigers competed in the final day of singles play, but were unable to chart victories.
Melissa Koning was unable to compete making Gira Schofield of South Carolina the winner by default.
Taylor Lindsey of Alabama overcame Daniela Vuckadinovic, 6-3, 6-0, and LSU's Nicole Smith defeated Dunja Djuranovic, 6-4, 7-6,(4).
Heather Bybee also fell in the final round to Vanderbilt's Hannah Blatt, 6-2, 6-2.
Auburn concluded its fall season with its performance in the SEC Fall Coaches Classic. The Tigers will start its spring season with its home tournament, the Auburn Winter Invitational, Jan. 16.
