    Women's Tennis Closes Fall in Houston

    HOUSTON, Texas. - Auburn women's tennis is scheduled to compete in the Cougar Fall Open hosted by the University of Houston beginning this Friday at the John E. Hoff Courts.

    Auburn players expected to compete in either the singles or doubles draws are Pleun Burgmans, Jackie Kasler, Jen Pfeifler, Emily Flickinger, Michala Kurcharova and Ashley Kitchen.

    Going into this weekend the Tigers are led by freshman Ashley Kitchen with a 10-2 record this fall. Junior Kasler and sophomore  Pfeifler lead Auburn's doubles teams with a 10-2 mark.

    Earlier this month the Tigers competed in the ITA/USTA Regionals, with sophomore Flickinger and freshman Burgmans earning the title in the main doubles consolation bracket.

    Other teams scheduled to compete this weekend include Arkansas, TCU, Oregon and Iowa State. Play begins at 8:30 a.m. CT on Friday and Saturday and at 8 a.m. CT on Sunday.
