AUBURN, Ala. -
The Auburn women’s tennis team will travel to Nashville for the June Stewart Invitational Oct. 23-25. Auburn will be represented by Alannah Griffin, Caroline Turner, Reka Muller and Alizee Michaud in the five team tournament that includes SEC foes Ole Miss and Vanderbilt. Wichita State and Indiana will also participate.
“Lauren (Longbotham Meisner) and I have worked hard to help our young team develop an identity this spring,” assistant coach Chris Hooshyar said. “We have tried to get our young players into as many tough matches as possible so they can find the identity they want to have going into the spring. This will be a great experience for them to play some tough talent and get more experience”
Michaud will make her first appearance since the Miami Fall Invitational. She will look to add to her early success after a third place finish and a win over a ranked opponent.
The freshman duo of Griffin and Turner will look to build on their performance in the Mercer Bears Gridiron Classic in which they took the B doubles championship. Turner also won the C singles bracket while Griffin advanced to the consolation finals in the USTA/ITA Regional Championship last week.
Michaud will also team up with Muller in doubles for Auburn. Muller advanced to the singles consolation finals at the Miami Fall Invitational after an opening round loss to a ranked opponent.
