TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -

The Auburn University women's tennis team will begin its fall season at the 21st Annual Roberta Alison Classic on Sept. 22-24 in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

The flighted tournament will be bringing in several of the nation's top teams, featuring (Alabama, Auburn, Auburn-Montgomery, Birmingham-Southern, Mississippi State, UNC-Greensboro, Notre Dame, Samford and Vanderbilt) and 70 athletes overall.

The Tigers will look to improve on last season's 6-18 overall record as three letterwinners, Whitney Chappell, Alex Haney and Leigh Tippins return along with five newcomers and Fani Chifchieva, who redshirted last year.

The tournament will begin Friday and run through Sunday at the UA Tennis Complex, with matches beginning at 8 a.m. CT.
