AUBURN, Ala. - Auburn seniors Pleun Burgmans and Paula de Man along with sophomore Alizee Michaud were tabbed in the preseason ITA rankings, the association announced Tuesday.
Burgmans is ranked as the No. 47 player, while Michaud is ranked 77th nationally. Burgmans and de Man enter the new season ranked 29th nationally.
Last season, two-time doubles All-American Pleun Burgmans and partner Emily Flickinger finished runner-up at last year’s Riviera/ITA Regionals. The duo earned a national seed at the NCAA Doubles Championship and finished the season 27-11. Burgmans posted an 18-15 record in singles while competing primarily in the No. 1 spot.
de Man finished the 2014-15 campaign with a 16-5 (6-3 SEC) record during the dual season while going 8-1 at the No. 3 line with partner Michala Kucharova.
Michaud posted a 15-0 record in the regular season at the No. 1 position at Stetson last season. Michaud was selected for the NCAA Singles Championships and was named the Atlantic Sun Women’s Tennis Freshman of the Year and Player of the Year.
