AUBURN-- Tim Gray has resigned as the women's tennis coach at Auburn, announced Director of Athletics Jay Jacobs Tuesday.

"I have resigned to pursue other opportunities," Gray said. "I am honored and grateful for my six years as the head women's tennis coach at Auburn and the opportunity to coach in the Southeastern Conference."

In six years at Auburn, Gray led the program to a 62-81 overall record.

"We appreciate Tim's efforts during his six years at Auburn and wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors," Jacobs said.

A native of Greenville, S.C., Gray was named Auburn's head coach on June 21, 2005.

A search for Gray's replacement will begin immediately.
