TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Jackie Kasler and Jen Pfeifler represented Auburn and won the doubles portion of the 2012 Alabama ITA Summer Circuit Tournament last weekend at the University of Alabama.

“I’m really pleased with the way the girls played in Tuscaloosa,” Auburn head coach Lauren Longbotham Meisner said. “I’m excited to see how each of them is progressing and we are all looking forward to getting to work and the upcoming season.”

Kasler and Pfeifler earned a first round bye and then defeated Alabama’s Maya Jansen and Natalia Maynetto, 8-4. The duo followed up with a semifinal win over Lynn Chi and Maci Epstein, 8-4, to advance to the finals.

In the finals, the Auburn tandem dispatched Alabama’s Mary Anne Macfarlane and Emily Zabor, 8-5, to win the bracket.

In singles play at the event, Auburn had four players in action. Plamena Kurteva and Kasler each won a pair of matches in the singles bracket, while Pfeifler won one. Lauren Levant also competed in the draw.
