URBANA, Ill. – Auburn freshman Pleun Burgmans and senior Plamena Kurteva will both compete in the NCAA Women’s Tennis Championships this week at the Khan Outdoor Tennis Center at the University of Illinois.
ITA No. 22 Burgmans begins play in the singles draw on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. CT against 14th-ranked Krista Hardebeck from Stanford. Burgmans is 22-6 as a freshman, including 9-4 mark against ranked opponents.
Burgmans will also team with Kurteva in the doubles draw beginning on Thursday. The duo will meet William and Mary’s No. 13 Maria Belaya and Jeltje Loomans. The Auburn tandem is ranked 10th by the ITA.
Burgmans and Kurteva are 11-5 this season with six ranked victories.
