"We're excited to have another shot at Alabama on Thursday," head women's tennis coach Tim Gray said. "They played well against us on Sunday and it was a very good match. Hopefully we will make some adjustments and be ready to go."
It will be the fifth SEC Tournament first-round meeting between Auburn and Alabama since 1991. In the four previous meetings, the series is split at 2-2. The most recent was in 2004, when Alabama defeated Auburn, 4-0.
Last year at the league tournament, the Tigers opened with a 4-0 win over South Carolina, but fell to Florida in the second round, 4-0.
Thursday's winner will move on to face regular-season SEC champ and top-seeded Georgia at 8:30 a.m., on Friday in the second round at the Billingsley Tennis Center.
