AUBURN, Ala. -- After a strong weekend that featured two wins over ranked opponents, sophomore Andie Dikosavljevic has been named SEC Player of the Week, announced Monday.
“Andie has established herself as one of the best players in the SEC and in the nation,” said Auburn head coach Lauren Spencer. “She has had a tremendous year of growth mentally and tactically, which has elevated her game to a whole new level. We are extremely proud of her and excited to see what she has in store for her post season performance.”
On Friday, Dikosavljevic picked up two wins on the road against No. 6 Vanderbilt. Pairing with freshman Alannah Griffin, the duo defeated Frances Altick and Astra Sharma, 6-2.
Trailing No. 6 Vanderbilt 3-2, Dikosavljevic tied the match, defeating No. 19 Sydney Campbell in straight sets, 7-6, 6-2.
She picked up her eleventh victory over a ranked opponent on Sunday, defeating No. 69 Justin Mikulskyte of No. 20 Kentucky.
This is the second time this season Dikosavljevic has been named SEC Player of the Week, last getting the honor on March 9th.
Dikosavljevic and No. 12 Auburn will return to action Friday in the SEC Tournament after clinching the fourth seed, which is the highest in program history.
