LAFAYETTE, La. – Auburn women’s tennis is scheduled to play a pair of dual matches in the state of Louisiana this weekend when they face Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday and ULM on Sunday.
“We are looking forward to the challenge of going on the road to face Louisiana and ULM,” Auburn head coach Lauren Longbotham Meisner said. “This will be a first for us in playing back-to-back dual matches on the road, so I am interested to see how we respond as a team to that particular challenge.”
Auburn (3-1) is coming off a narrow loss to Florida State last Sunday 5-2, a match where the Tigers battled top to bottom in both singles and doubles play. Auburn picked up a key singles win at No. 2 by Jen Pfeifler, 7-6 (7-2), 7-5 and dropped close matches at both No. 1 (8-6) and No. 2 doubles (8-5).
Louisiana-Lafayette (1-5) will face Auburn on Saturday after squaring off with Louisiana Tech on Friday afternoon. ULM (4-1) was most recently defeated by Mississippi State 4-3 on Thursday in Starkville.
Both matches are scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. CT. There is no live stats or live video available for either event.
