AUBURN, Ala. – No. 11 Auburn women’s tennis (11-1) will face off against Mercer in a doubleheader on Friday at Yarbrough Tennis Center.
Last time out, the Tigers defeated Troy and Alabama A&M to give Lauren Spencer her 200th career victory in only her tenth season as a head coach. Spencer is also Auburn’s all-time leader in wins with 96 in five seasons.
Junior Alizee Michaud is off to a strong start in singles with a team best 21 victories, including 11 in dual-matches. The Florida native comes in at No. 28 in the latest Oracle/ITA singles rankings released on Feb. 8.
After picking up three singles wins at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, Taylor Russo stands at 11-5 on the season, with three wins against ranked opponents. The freshman also leads the Tigers with 19 doubles victories.
The first match against Mercer will begin at 11 a.m. CT with the second to follow at 3 p.m. Both matches will be played at Yarbrough Tennis Center and admission is free.
