The No. 68 Auburn Tigers women's tennis team (3-1) will travel to Atlanta to take on No. 3 Georgia Tech (6-1), Saturday, at 11 a.m. CT at the Bill Moore Tennis Center.
"We are very excited about the tennis we are playing right now," head coach Tim Gray said. "We feel like we have a program that is headed in the right direction, and facing an excellent Georgia Tech team will be a great test to see where we are. We are looking at this as an opportunity match, and we want to take full advantage of it."
The Tigers are coming off a weekend split on the road, losing to No. 29 Texas A&M and defeating Rice, who at the time was ranked 62nd.
Auburn is led at the No. 1 spot by redshirt freshman Fani Chifchieva, who is ranked No. 84 in the country with a 3-1 record this season, while sophomore Alex Haney is undefeated (4-0) in singles play at the No. 2 and three singles spots. As a team, the Tigers are 18-6 in singles this spring and hold an 8-4 record in doubles.
