AUBURN, Ala. - The No. 28 Auburn women's tennis team heads to Birmingham for a pair of Saturday matches before returning home Sunday to take on Troy for its final non-conference match of the year.
Saturday's doubleheader in Birmingham begins at noon when the Tigers take on No. 73 Samford (3-2) at noon and Auburn will wrap up the day at 5 p.m. against UAB (2-3). Sunday's match versus Troy (2-3) marks the first home match for the Tigers since Jan. 17 when Auburn opened the season with a sweep of Middle Tennessee and Alabama A&M.
The Tigers (7-2) have won four-straight matches dating back to Jan. 31. Last weekend, Auburn earned three wins in Houston, Texas, taking down No. 52 Washington State and Prairie View A&M last Saturday before topping No. 42 Washington on Sunday.
Auburn's doubles pair of Pleun Burgmans and Emily Flickinger retained their top-10 ranking, coming in at No. 7 in the latest ITA rankings. Michala Kucharova and Reka Muller also enter the latest ITA release at No. 45 in doubles.
Burgmans heads into the weekend at No. 46 in the ITA rankings in singles, leading the Tigers with a 12-6 overall record. Andie Dikosavljevic has won four-straight matches in singles and is 6-2 in dual match play, while Paula de Man is a perfect 5-0 in singles.
