AUBURN – Auburn women’s tennis hosts Alabama State at 10 a.m. CT and Troy at 6 p.m. CT on Wednesday at the Yarbrough Tennis Center.
Auburn is coming off a great weekend where they earned wins over ITA No. 62 Georgia State 6-1 and Samford 4-0 at home to move to 5-1 for the season.
The highlight of the weekend for Auburn came when freshman Pleun Burgmans defeated ITA No. 29 Abigail Tere-Apisah 6-1, 6-0 at the top spot. Jen Pfeifler picked up two singles and two doubles wins for a perfect 4-0 weekend.
The duo of Jackie Kasler and Emily Flickinger continued their spring success with an 8-4 win over Georgia State to clinch the doubles point and move to a team-high 4-0 doubles dual match record for the season.
Alabama State is currently 0-3 and coming off a 6-1 loss to Florida A&M. Auburn has never faced the Hornets.
Troy is currently 3-2 coming off a 4-1 win over Furman. The Tigers are 10-1 all-time against the Trojans, and earned a 5-2 win last season on the road.
Wednesday’s match is the third of five-straight matches at home. Admission to all home tennis matches is free.
