Auburn women’s tennis set to play four matches this weekend

AUBURN, Ala. --
Auburn women’s tennis will be busy this weekend as they are set to host four matches. Saturday, the Tigers will square off against UT Martin at 11 a.m. and Troy at 5 p.m. On Sunday, Auburn will face Texas State at 9 a.m. and Alabama A&M and 1 p.m.

Auburn is coming off of a 7-0 win against a tough Samford team. After struggling to get the doubles point, the Tigers dominated singles to earn the sweep.

Newcomer Alizee Michaud has been dominant this season for Auburn. Through the first four matches, Michaud has yet to drop a set in singles. In doubles, Michaud and partner Reka Muller will look to get back on track after dropping their first match of the dual-match season against Samford.

Freshman Alannah Griffin comes into the weekend leading Auburn in wins for both singles (13) and doubles (11). In the dual-match season, Grifin is 3-1 with her loss coming in the ITA Kick-Off against No. 12 Miami. In doubles, she has teamed up with sophomore Andie Dikosavljevic to in the No. 3 spot. The duo is now 3-0 and will look to continue their dominance.

There will be a free Auburn women’s tennis koozie give away for the first 50 fans at the UT Martin match on Saturday. All matches will be played at Yarbrough Tennis Center and admission is free.
