AUBURN - Auburn women's tennis opens its home schedule this Sunday with a doubleheader against Georgia Southern and Alabama A&M at the Yarbrough Tennis Center.
"We look forward to hosting these two teams," Auburn head coach Lauren Longbotham Meisner said. "We have had great success these past two weekends. We hope to continue this success, and look forward to playing at a high level."
Auburn will take on Georgia Southern at 12 p.m. CT. The Eagles are coming off a 6-1 win over Presbyterian College where they won all three doubles matches and five out of the six singles matches. Georgia Southern finished out the 2012 season with a 6-15 record, 2-8 in conference matches and fell in the quarter finals of the Southern Conference tournament. The Tigers are 3-0 all-time against the Eagles.
Action continues with Auburn facing off against Alabama A&M at 6 p.m. CT. Alabama A&M finished out the 2012 season with an 8-11 record, 3-3 in conference matches. The Tigers are 4-0 all-time against the Bulldogs.
Auburn is coming off a huge 4-0 win where they upset No. 65 DePaul in the consolation match at the 2013 ITA Kick-Off Weekend hosted by North Carolina to move to 1-1 for the season.
Sunday's match begins a stretch of five straight matches at home. Admission to all tennis matches is free.
