CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Auburn women’s tennis travels to compete this weekend in the 2013 ITA Women’s Kick-Off Weekend hosted by the University of North Carolina at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.

The ITA Kick-Off Weekend features 15 women’s host sites with four teams at each site vying to advance to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships. The 15 women’s teams to win both matches during Kick-Off Weekend will advance to the 2013 ITA National Women’s Team Indoor Championship, hosted by the University of Virginia at the Boar’s Head Sports Club in Charlottesville, Va., from February 8-11.

Joining the 68th-ranked Tigers at the event are host No. 8 UNC, No. 46 VCU and No. 65 DePaul. Auburn will face UNC Saturday, Jan. 26 at 9 a.m. ET.  

The winner will go on to play in the championship on Sunday, Jan. 27 at 1 p.m. ET, and the loser will play in the consolation at 9 a.m. ET.

The Tigers are 2-4 all-time against the Tar Heels and 0-2 versus the Blue Demons. Auburn has never faced VCU.  

Auburn is coming off a great weekend where it posted 20 total victories in its season opener at the HEB Invitational hosted by Baylor University.

The Tigers are in action next on Feb. 3 for their first home doubleheader of the spring season at the Yarbrough Tennis Center against Georgia Southern and Alabama A&M.
