NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Auburn women's tennis and head coach Lauren Longbotham Meisner open the 2012 spring season on Friday at the Bulldog Invitational.
"The team finished strong in the fall and came back from break ready to go," Longbotham Meisner said. "They have really hit the ground running. I am very excited to see what this young team can do against some nationally-ranked teams that will be visiting Yale. I believe this is a great starting tournament for our spring season. I am very familiar with the teams coming to the tournament, and based on the hard work that the team has put in this week, I believe we are up for the challenge."
Joining the Tigers at the Yale event are teams from Tulsa and Purdue. Auburn will face Tulsa in singles at 9 a.m. CT on Friday before facing Purdue in doubles action at noon CT.
On Saturday, Auburn is scheduled to face Tulsa in doubles play, followed by singles action against Yale. The Tigers conclude play on Sunday with singles matches against Purdue at 8 a.m. CT and will finish out the event by squaring off in doubles against Yale at 11 a.m. CT.
Auburn has never faced Yale, but is 1-1 all-time against Purdue and 0-1 against Tulsa.
