PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – The Auburn women’s tennis’ duo of Pleun Burgmans and Emily Flickinger fell 6-4, 6-3 to Clemson’s No. 7 Beatrice Gumulya and Jessy Rompies in the semifinals at the Rivera/ITA All-American Championship.

“It was a great effort by Pleun and Emily to make a run at this prestigious tournament,” head coach Lauren Longbotham Meisner said. “I think this experience will help both of them as we had to regionals later on this week.”

The duo finished with the best Auburn run at the Rivera/ITA All-American Championships in doubles. The sixth-ranked pair is 4-2 this season in doubles and has already notched a win over a top-5 doubles team this season.

The full team returns to action at the ITA Southern Regional, Oct. 9-12. The four-day tournament will be played at the Alabama Tennis Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
