Tulsa, Okla. - Auburn's women's doubles duo of Alex Haney and Melissa Koning and singles competitor Fani Chifchieva remain alive in the NCAA Women's singles and doubles championships at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center hosted by the University of Tulsa.

"It was a very tough day out there with the wind blowing 30 mph, it seemed," said Auburn head coach Tim Gray. "But all of the girls stayed focus and stuck to their game plans and executed them well in spite of the conditions."

Haney and Koning defeated Utah's Elizabeth Ferris and Emily Kwok 6-7 (5), 6-3, 6-3. The No. 14 ranked pair pick up their first win ever in the NCAA Individual Championship and fourth post season win.

Haney and Koning will match up against Renata Kucerkova and Anastasia Petukhova of Fresno State at 2 p.m., Friday.

Chifchieva advances to the round of 16 with her 4-6, 6-2, 7-5, win over Kelcy Tefft of Notre Dame. She will face Ani Mijacika of Clemson on Friday.
