Auburn falls to Alabama on the road

AUBURN, Ala. –Auburn women’s tennis dropped a heartbreaker to rival Alabama, 4-3 on Friday night in Tuscaloosa.

Trailing 2-0, Georgie Axon put the Tigers on the board with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Alabama’s Smith Hinton on court four. The freshman is now 22-8 (4-3 SEC) on the season.



No. 34 Alizee Michaud picked up her 75th career singles victory with a 3-6, 7-6, 6-4 victory over No. 125 Andie Daniell on court two. The junior is 29-10 on the season with 11 wins over ranked opponents.

Caroline Turner defeated Joanna Saava 6-1, 7-6 on court six to improve to 11-8 (2-2 SEC) on the season.

Auburn will return to action on April 12th as it hits the road for a makeup match against Ole Miss in Oxford, Miss. The Tigers will close out the regular season at home against Missouri and Arkansas.
