No. 37 Auburn drops road match at No. 30 Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS - No. 37 Auburn women’s tennis fell to No. 30 Texas A&M, 4-0, at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center on Friday.

The Tigers (11-7, 1-5 SEC) and Aggies (7-3, 4-1 SEC) only played singles matches due to inclement weather around the College Station-area.

Texas A&M took an early 1-0 lead as No. 123 Stefania Hristov defeated Auburn’s Jen Pfeifler 6-1, 6-0 on court six. The Aggies made it 2-0 with a 6-3, 6-1 victory by Rutuja Bhosale at the No. 4 line over Emily Flickinger.

No. 73 Pleun Burgmans fell 6-3, 6-4 to No. 46 Rachel Pierson on court one to push A&M within one singles victory of clinching the match. The Aggies closed out the match as Auburn’s Andie Dikosavljevic was defeated 6-2, 7-5 by Ines Desheza on court two.

Auburn wraps up its four-match road swing on Sunday at No. 49 LSU in Baton Rouge, La. Match time is set for 11 a.m. CT and live results are available on
