AUBURN, Ala. --
Auburn women’s tennis improved to 9-1 on the season with two wins over Mercer. The Tigers won the first match 4-0 and turned around to pick up a 7-0 win.

“I thought this was a great team performance,” said Auburn women’s tennis head coach Lauren Spencer. “We played at a high level and I felt that even when we got ourselves in tight positions, we were able make smart decisions and construct our points well. Mercer is a team that fights for every point, you have to be ready for the ball to come back no matter how good you hit it and they made us play to win.”

Auburn continued it’s dominance in doubles on the season, winning all of the doubles matches on the day. No. 38 Pleun Burgmans and Paula de Man played at the No. 1 spot in the first match, beating Grace Korta and Katia Stravroulaki 6-1. In the second match, the dup dropped down the the No. 2 spot and improved to 6-1 in the dual-match season winning 6-2.

ITA Singles No. 27 Andie Dikosavljevic improved to 6-1 in the dual-match season with two dominant wins in the No. 3 spot. In the first match, Dikosavljevic defeated Grace Korta 6-0, 6-1 and then turned around to beat Katie Sidor 6-1, 6-1 in the second match.

Head coach Lauren Spencer now has 69 wins at Auburn, which ties her for the most all-time by an Auburn women’s tennis coach. She can become the all-time winningest coach in Auburn women’s tennis history with a win next weekend as the Tigers host North Florida and Georgia Southern.
