Auburn, Ala. -
The Auburn softball team will open its fall exhibition season with a pair of games Thursday, Oct. 1, at Jane B. Moore Field.
The first game will be at 3 p.m. against Pensacola Junior College. The game was originally slated for a 5 p.m. start, but was pushed up to accommodate Pensacola's travel schedule. Auburn will then take on Georgia Perimeter College at 7 p.m. Pensacola will play Georgia Perimeter at 5 p.m. between Auburn's games.
"I am excited the players will get an opportunity to put the uniform on and compete," Auburn head coach Tina Deese said. "I am anticipating good things from our newcomers. Except for our pitchers, the team will look very different this fall. This will be a great opportunity for us to develop some cohesiveness and continuing building on the foundation we have set for the 2010 season."
The Tigers will play each Thursday running through the first week of October, with all games at Jane B. Moore Field. Admission to all games is free.
