Auburn, Ala. - Auburn softball signee Kasey Cooper collected a trio of awards in the past week, earning the Alabama 2013 Gatorade Softball Player of the Year while also being named to the Alabama Sports Writers Super All-State softball team and earning "Miss Softball" by the Alabama Sports Writers Association.

Cooper led Dothan High School to a 45-17 record and a berth in the Class 6A state tournament this past season. Cooper posted a 28-11 record with a 1.23 ERA and 382 strikeouts in 223.1 innings in the circle while also hitting .583 with 22 home runs, 24 doubles, seven triples, 77 RBI and 22 stolen bases.

Cooper helped lead Dothan to the 2011 Class 6A state title and has been a four-year honoree on the first-team all-state team. Cooper also earned consecutive Class 6A Player of the Year awards.

Cooper was one of four players singed for the fall 2013 class.
