Kaylee Carlson Named NFCA All-American
May 31, 2017

LOUISVILLE, Ky.Kaylee Carlson was tabbed a National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-American, the organization announced Wednesday. She was selected to the third team as a pitcher.

Carlson is the 15th player in the Auburn record books to be tabbed an All-American and the 10th Tiger in the last four years under head coach Clint Myers.

The junior is the third pitcher to earn the honor in program history, joining Holly Currie (2005) and Kristen Keyes (2004).

Carlson tied a single-season program record in 2017 with 27 wins in the circle. Her win total matched Keyes’ mark set in 2004 and ranked in the top 10 nationally this campaign.

The Garden Grove, Calif. native’s 1.36 ERA was the lowest in the SEC among those to make at least 30 starts and the second lowest in a season by an Auburn player ever.

Carlson allowed one earned run or fewer in a team-best 33 appearances in 2017, including the second perfect game thrown in program history against Ohio State (March 18).

She was selected to the USA Softball Player of the Year Top 50 Watch List and was the second pitcher to don the orange and blue to be named an all-conference performer.
