Head Coach Patrick Murphy
On the game...
"They got a key hit when they needed it, and we didn't. That's been the story of the last four games for us. It's definitely something that we need to work on for the rest of the postseason."
On the meeting at the mound before Leslie Klein's sixth-inning two-run double...
"I asked (Ashley) Holcombe what the pitch was to (Rachel) Mitchell, and it was supposed to be in on her hands and she hit an opposite field single. Holcombe said that's where it was, she just inside-outed it. She said she was fine, so I left her in there."
On LSU's Emily Turner...
"She did what she usually does. She pitches them out of jams, just like the last inning. She kind of teases us, I think. We get the bases loaded, then she makes a couple of good pitches and gets out of it. That's kind of the way it has gone for four years with her."
Head Coach Yvette Girouard
On the game...
"That was a typical Alabama/LSU war on the softball field. That was great game. Emily (Turner) did an outstanding job. We always tell our team to live in the present. I would like to play defense just a tad bit better, but I was awfully happy with the way we swung the bat because we had been in a funk offensively."
On what SEC teams should host NCAA Regionals...
"These three that finished one, two, three, I think should host. We are praying we get both Regionals and Super Regionals because we haven't had that yet. We kind of felt that we had to win this game. We are thrilled to be playing in the (SEC) championship again. I believe LSU has been in eight out of the 11 (SEC Championship games), so that's a statement to the program.
OF Rachel Mitchel
On what she saw at the plate on her double and home run...
"I saw the curve ball really well. I am really comfortable in the box right now and I am seeing the outside pitch."
P Emily Turner
On facing the bases loaded in the seventh...
"I told (Leslie) Klein going into seventh, `Klein, you get these runs in, we score, I have the rest of the game.' I already made that vow to her and I was fully confident in my ability to keep the runners from scoring."
