Auburn Softball Takes On LSU in First Round of SEC Tournament

Auburn, Ala. - The sixth-seeded Auburn softball team will play third-seeded and host team LSU at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the first round of the Southeastern Conference Tournament.

Auburn is making its ninth appearance in the SEC Tournament and eighth in the last nine years. The Tigers are 37-19 overall and 13-14 in the SEC. The tournament is a single elimination format. LSU is 41-15 overall and 17-11 in the SEC.

"We are looking forward to playing LSU," Auburn head coach Tina Deese said. "They have a good team. They won three games from us earlier this season, so we have the opportunity to redeem ourselves a little. It will be an exciting crowd and a great atmosphere playing down there."
