Seedings and the bracket for the 2007 Southeastern Conference Softball Tournament, held May 10-12 at Jane B. Moore Field, have been officially announced.
Alabama (50-6, 21-6 SEC), the conference's third seed, and Georgia (43-25, 13-15 SEC), which earned the No. 6 seed, will open the tournament with an 11 a.m. CT game Thursday. The Crimson Tide and Bulldogs will be followed by second-seeded LSU (49-10, 22-6 SEC) and No. 7 South Carolina (33-22, 12-16 SEC) at 1:30 p.m.
The winners of the Alabama-Georgia and LSU-South Carolina games will play in the conference semifinals at 5 p.m. CT Friday.
Continuing Thursday's play will be fourth-seed Florida (44-19, 17-11) and No. 5 Mississippi State (34-24, 14-14 SEC) in a 5 p.m. start. Top-seeded Tennessee (53-4, 23-4) and No. 8 Ole Miss (24-33, 11-17) will wrap up Thursday's action at 7:30 p.m. CT.
The winners of the final two games Thursday will advance to the second Friday semifinal, which will be played at 7:30 p.m. CT. The winners of the semifinal matchups will advance to the championship game, to be played at 12 p.m. CT Saturday and will air live on Fox Sports South.
