Kasey Cooper, Victoria Draper Tabbed CoSIDA Academic All-District

AUBURN, Ala.Kasey Cooper and Victoria Draper were selected to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Thursday.

Cooper and Draper were two of the recipients on the District 4 ballot, made up universities in the southeast region of the country.

A soon-to-be graduate with a degree in mechanical engineering, Cooper boasts a 3.97 grade point average.

The Dothan, Ala. native has a .305 batting average with 20 extra-base hits, including nine home runs, and 42 RBI. She set the career SEC RBI record and is the second player in conference history to total 250 hits and 250 RBI in a career.

Cooper is a two-time Academic All-American and was named the 2016 SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year,

Draper is a marketing and accountancy double major with a 3.73 grade point average.

The Moulton, Ala. product touts a .379 batting clip and has scored a team-high 39 runs thus far in 2017. She has also swiped a team-best eight bases.

Draper earned Academic All-SEC honors a season ago while leading the outfield in center.

Because Cooper and Draper were voted Academic All-District, they will be placed on a national ballot for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors, which will be chosen in the coming weeks.

To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, and have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution.
