Auburn senior Jorja Bell has been named to the Southeastern Conference Softball Community Service Team it was announced by the league office Thursday.
The SEC sponsors Community Service Teams for all 20 league sponsored sports. The Community Service Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to her community in superior service efforts.
Bell, a native of Auckland, New Zealand, is an officer in the Auburn Student Athlete Advisory Committee and has coordinated the efforts for the local canned food drive and Toys for Tots campaign. In addition, Bell participated in the sportsmanship initiative for All Auburn All Athletes and the Auburn Halloween Fest.
"We are certainly proud of Jorja and the effort she has put into her community service projects," Auburn head coach Tina Deese said. "That is an important part of the college experience and helps to make student-athletes well rounded individuals."
