AUBURN - The Auburn softball team will back out of Southeastern Conference play for a game when it hosts Florida Atlantic Wednesday at 6 p.m. CT at Jane B. Moore Field.

The game will mark the Tigers' first non-conference game since March 2, when Auburn visited Troy. Auburn (17-22 overall) has since played 16 straight SEC games, going 6-10 over that stretch.

"Florida Atlantic will be a big game because we need to get back on track after losing to LSU," Auburn head coach Tina Deese said. "Like us, they have played a tough schedule this season and will be looking to end a 10-day trip through Alabama with a win. It's important that we stay focused on FAU and not look toward our series with Alabama this weekend."

Florida Atlantic (22-14) will be making the trip to Jane B. Moore Field after playing Northwestern State and Alabama Tuesday night in Tuscaloosa, Ala., at the Alabama Softball Complex.

The Owls hold the all-time series lead over the Tigers, 5-3, after the teams split two games last season at the FAU Pepsi Cola Classic in Boca Raton. The meeting Wednesday will be the first between the clubs in Auburn.

Catch the game live on WZMG-AM (910) or by visiting www.auburntigers.com. All Auburn home regular season games are free to the public.
