The 21st-ranked Auburn softball team hosts the Kentucky Wildcats at Jane B. Moore Field this weekend in the Tigers' first home SEC series of the season.
First pitch for game one is set for 6 p.m. CT on Friday. The Tigers and Wildcats will play at 1 p.m. CT on Saturday and Sunday.
Auburn goes into the series with a 23-7 overall record and a 2-3 record in the Southeastern Conference. Kentucky is 12-15 overall this season and 0-3 in SEC play.
Auburn is 28-14 all-time against Kentucky and 16-3 against the Wildcats in Auburn. The teams have split the last 10 meetings. Auburn took two of three from the Wildcats last season in Lexington. The Tigers won game one, 5-3 in eight innings on a two-run homer from catcher Elizabeth Eisterhold. Kentucky evened the series with a 10-2 victory in game two, but the Tigers claimed a series win with a 2-1 victory in the finale.
Senior shortstop Lauren Guzman leads the Tigers with a .533 batting average in SEC games this season. Guzman is 8-for-15 through the first five games of league play. Guzman goes into the weekend have started 205 consecutive games, which is the third-longest streak in Auburn history. Guzman trails former Tiger Ashley Griffin who holds the record for consecutive games started with 221.
