March 8, 2007
Auburn softball head coach Tina Deese announced Thursday the Tigers' 2007 summer camps. The first camp will be held June 11-14 for campers in eighth to 12th grades, while the second camp, June 18-21, will be for campers in the third to seventh grades.
Day campers for both sessions will cost $260. Resident campers are $300. A deposit of $50 is required with each application and is non-refundable. Balances are due by June 1 for each session.
Both camps will cover all aspects of fastpitch softball. A separate specialty pitcher and catcher camp will run during the same time. Participants must provide their gloves, shoes, shorts and hat. Catchers are also required to bring their own catcher's gear. Bats and helmets will be supplied, but it is suggested that campers bring their own.
The camp will be held at the Auburn City Softball Complex, the former home of Auburn softball. Resident campers will stay at Auburn residence halls and be transported by bus each day.
Deese, in her 11th season at Auburn, will serve as tournament director. Assistant coaches Jack Byerley and Stewart McGill, in their third and first seasons at Auburn, respectively, will serve as assistant directors.
