COLUMBUS, Ga. -
The 17th-ranked Auburn softball team will play either one or two games Sunday at the NFCA Leadoff Classic to make up for the rain cancelled Saturday session at the South Commons Complex.
Because of individual team's travel schedules, two options have been designed. Under option one, the Tigers will play two games; against North Carolina at 10 a.m. EST and at 2 p.m. against Georgia Tech.
Option two would require the Tigers to play North Carolina at 1 p.m. The game against North Carolina would finish pool play for Auburn. If the Tigers also play Georgia Tech, it would represent their fourth game of the tournament as bracket play has been cancelled. Each team under option one, would play a random opponent. Pairings are available at www.nfca.org.
Either option will allow for the Tigers to be carried on live stats and live audio on www.auburntigers.com. Games starting at either 1 p.m. or 2 p.m. EST will also be carried on WZMG-AM (910).
Check www.auburntigers.com for an update on what times the Tigers will play Sunday. A final announcement regarding Sunday's schedule is expected at 7 a.m. EST.
The Tigers (11-2 overall) are 1-1 at the tournament after losing to No. 16 Arizona State, 1-0, in eight innings in the team's first game, then defeating No. 24 Missouri, 2-0, in the nightcap on the strength of Holly Currie's third career no-hitter.
