Former Tiger Ashley Moore Signs Professional Softball Contract

LOWELL, Mass. - Former Auburn softball standout Ashley Moore has signed a contract to play for the New England Riptide of the National Pro Fastpitch softball league.

Moore, a Birmngham, Ala., native, played at Auburn from 1999-2002 and became Auburn's first softball All-American in 2001. She garnered First-Team All-Southeastern Conference honors as a junior and a senior.

In her time on the Plains, Moore set 15 school records, including the single-season home run mark with 17 in her senior year.

With the Riptide, Moore will play for two-time Gold Medal-winning Olympic coach Ralph Raymond. New England opens its 56-game season on June 1.
