Auburn, Ala. -
The Auburn softball team took to the field for their first practice of the new year under clear skies but in chill temperatures Monday afternoon at the Jane B. Moore Softball complex.
The Tigers practiced for roughly two hours, hitting on all phases with individual and team drills. Auburn head coach Tina Deese was pleased with Monday's practice, noting the Tigers energy and enthusiasm.
"I thought it went pretty well today," Deese said. "Obviously it was just the first day back, but the team came out with good enthusiasm and they kept their energy going despite the cold weather. Being the first day back, I thought we put the bat on the ball pretty well and that's certainly a good way to get things going."
