Softball Announces 2013 Summer Camps
Jan. 10, 2013
Auburn, Ala. -
Auburn softball will hold two summer camps in 2013 with an Elite Camp in June and a Fundamental Camp in July.
The Elite Camp runs June 9-12 and is open to competitors in grades seven through 12. The Tiger Elite Camp is designed for players with extensive high school and/or travel ball experience who aspire to be a college softball player. Elite Campers will receive hands-on instruction from the Auburn coaching staff in all aspects of the game, including throwing, fielding, pitching, catching and hitting.
In addition, the Elite Camp will have sessions on the recruiting process, academic requirements of a college student-athlete, mental training and strength and conditioning. Elite Campers will be divided into groups based on position and go through a skills test evaluation on Sunday night. Morning and afternoon sessions will be dedicated to skill instruction with the evening session devoted to team competition.
The Fundamental Camp runs July 7-9 and is open to beginning players entering grades three through eight. The Tiger Fundamental Camp is designed to teach the fundamentals of softball while having fun at the same time.
The campers will be divided into groups based on age. The morning and afternoon sessions will focus on skill instruction in the areas of hitting, fielding, pitching and catching. In the evening, campers will be placed on teams and show off their skills in game situations.
