Jim Beitia joined the Auburn softball staff on July 8, 2013 as director of softball opertations.
Beitia spent the 2012 and 2011 seasons in the National Pro Fastpitch League with the Carolina Diamonds. Beitia served as the Diamonds' director of player development in 2012 and assistant coach/general manager in 2011.
Beitia is rejoining Auburn head coach Clint Myers after serving as director of softball operations at Arizona State from 2005-08. Beitia has previous experience in the Southeastern Conference, serving as head coach of the Tennessee Lady Vols softball team from 1994-2001. Beitia compiled a record of 233-163 (.588) and an SEC record of 64-75 (.460) as the Lady Vols' first head coach in the sport.
