Cooper and Melero Named To Top 50 Watch List For National Player of the Year

Auburn softball will have two representatives on the Top 50 Watch List for the 2015 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Award, announced Wednesday. Senior Branndi Melero and sophomore Kasey Cooper, who are both coming off All-American seasons, will represent the Tigers on the prestigious list.

2015 Softball Season Preview: Middle Infielders

With as much offensive output that the Tigers had last season, it's easy to forget that the team boasted the best fielding percentage in the nation. With a .979 percentage over 62 games, Auburn tied with Kansas with the highest fielding percentage in Division I softball and much of that can be attributed to the vacuum-like infield that head coach Clint Myers brought out game after game.

Auburn Softball Enters Second National Preseason Poll At No. 19

Just one week after being named the No. 20 team in the nation by the USA Today/NFCA Coaches' National Softball Poll, the Auburn Tiger softball team will be considered the 19th-ranked team in the nation according to the USA Softball/ESPN National Poll that was released today.

2015 Softball Season Preview: Catchers

Probably the deepest position on the Auburn softball team this year, the catcher position is also probably the most important. Six players will be listed at the catcher position at season's beginning for the Tigers with a good mix of experienced veterans and newcomers that will make the naming of a starter very hard for the coaching staff.

That's where Auburn softball finds themselves this year when it comes to their pitchers as seasoned veterans Lexi Davis and Marcy Harper both return to the team to bolster the staff and look to be an anchor for this team's postseason hopes.
