Tiger Softball Inks Eight To NLIs For 2017 Season

As the 2015 Auburn softball fall season came to a close back in October, off-season workouts began heating up in November for the players. As the team begins looking forward to a trip back to the Women’s College World Series, the Auburn coaching staff locked up its newest class of players for the 2017 season after signing eight high school standouts during the early signing period.

Auburn closed fall softball in style defeating Northwest Florida State in game one of their fall double header, 19-1, and then defeating Columbus State, 11-1, in game two.

The Auburn softball team finishes its eight-game fall schedule today when it faces NW Florida State at 4:45 pm and Columbus State at 7 p.m. at Jane B. Moore Field.

Tigers Sweep Valdosta State And Receive Championship Rings

On a night capped off by a ring ceremony for the 2015 SEC Champions, Auburn softball swept the doubleheader from NCAA Division II powerhouse Valdosta State, winning 8-0 and 16-0. Junior Kasey Cooper and senior Tiffany Howard led the way offensively for the Tigers. Cooper finished the day 4-for-5 with four RBI’s. Howard also picked up four hits and scored four times.
