AUBURN, Ala. -
Auburn senior defender Ronda Brooks was named to the Southeast Region's First Team while freshman forward Caitlin King was named to the Southeast Region All-Freshman Team by Soccer Buzz, it was announced on Monday night.
Brooks (Marietta, Ga.) finished up her final season on the Plains by guiding the Tigers to their fifth SEC West Division Title and a trip to the NCAA Tournament. She spent the majority of her time anchoring a backline that allowed just 14 goals during the regular season. A captain this year, she scored two goals and assisted on one and was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Year.
King (St. Louis, Mo.) finished the year leading the Tigers in goals (5) and points (15) while finishing second on the team in assists (5). Of her five goals, three of them were game-winners, including a pair in overtime.
This year marks the third straight that Brooks was named First Team All-Region by Soccer Buzz. She joins Megan Rivera as the only Tigers to ever be named First Team All-Region three times during a career at Auburn.
